Facing the problem of affective paedophilia and the tragedy of violent paedophilia, the MOCOVA (the Second Vatican Council Movement) declares its opinions clearly and firmly:
Granted that paedophilia, involving the interest of both the sexes, due to its nature, is to be distinctly differentiated from homosexuality, that today’s scienceno longer considers pathological, MOCOVA, considering paedophilia only in the affective and effective sense, declares that:
1) the paedophilic man (or woman) is not a monster. He is just a human being, totally human, even in the gravity of his psychic pathology. A pathology that includes the same “romantic” paedophilia, that is sweet and affective. The child has the right to live the charm of life; the adult has the duty to cover him from any sexual disturbance or confused situation inducing violence.
2) the child (boy or girl) of today could be the paedophilie of tomorrow, above all if he has been deprived of affection. A child who doesn’t receive love, in fact, is inclined to recognise in the affective and on hand paedophilie the desired, but absent father.
3) In most cases the paedophilies are the parents.
4) Hidden paedophilia, that is the morbid interest (even though unexpressed) towards childhood, is a very widespread phenomenon.
5) The School must deal with, at last, sexual information and education.
6) The Child can no longer be considered by institutions of education (family, school, and church) as a passive object or as a subject that suffers. Therefore, the act of paedobaptism, in the catholic church, that is the practice of conferring Baptism on a child, for example, should be revised. The child (boy or girl) can no longer be an object, either sexual, or religious and sacramental. Many parents who immediately baptise their child, being however very modern for other aspects, on the religious point of view are living in the Middle Ages. The MOCOVA decidely supports the entire rights of the child, not only the right to sexual dignity, but also the right to religious dignity, so, in actual fact, his legal capacity to choose religion and sacraments in the future as an adult. In this sense the MOCOVA will return on this theme again for necessary clarifications.
7) As regards to the ethic science (ethics is both science and conscience ) it needs to have the sense of proportions and to rigorously define the hierarchy of immoral acts:
a) A paedophilic act from parents is much more serious than a paedophilic act from a stranger.
b) Zoophilia, such as sexual practice with animals, far worse than affective paedophilia. This is an authentic moral epidemic that neither television nor press talk about. This is the classical unnatural sin. While affective paedophilia, even if it’s a bad act, is always a sexual union with a human being and a pathology that remains in the human field, zoophilia regards an alien and inferior sphere: the animal world.
As to paedophilic murderer we are, as Mocovists, absolutely against every type of violence, that of the paedophilic murderer on a child and that of people on the paedophilic murderer. “Dobermann”, the beautiful film by Jan Kounen that recently has obtained the public’s enthusiastic approval and that will become a cult movie, is inspired by the following thesis: the society and the system risk to become more violent than the assassin.
The paedophilic murderer must be punished. Above all in the extreme case of murderous sadism; but it is always necessary to consider that the victim’s death may be an accidental and unintentional act. Therefore justice must be high and superior.
However as progressivist Catholics and radical Christians we are opposed to capital punishment. A society that decides to resolve its problems with capital punishment or with life imprisonment is no longer a Human society according to God’s image, but according to Satan’s image whom God defined “Assassin”.
The Nativity of Jesus, the child for excellence, awaken the authentic man in us, able to dominate himself, also heroic towards perverted instincts, above all awaken the man free from violence and senses of death.
