Layman is the believer who distinguishes himself. Between God and non-God,  transcendence e immanence, between the Pearl and the pearl bottom.

Layman is the nonbeliever, who appreciates the believer’s distinctions, does not confound them nor mix them again for political reasons.

Layman is the one who does not think like Ferrara does.

Layman is the one who believes in the open reason, that is in the reason.

 

Ferrara is the aesthetics of political conformism. As sophisticated and able as his north-of-Rome neighbour.  He lacks of his wickedness.

 

Life is a commitment of synthesis between warm and cold values. Warm values: faith, love, friendship, affection, poetry, aesthetics, social and political ideals. Cold values: sciences, technique, economy, good sense, practical sense, political know-how.

 

Principles are intellectual lights to mediate in life and with life, they are not street signs to follow.

 

Centuries later Francis, with his radical and obsessive refusal of money, is right: we are dying of capitalism, exaggerated capitalism of very few ones.

Above all Jesus is right: beati pauperes. The end of the planet won’t be Poor’s fault.

 

Principles are purposes to gain, not to observe. It has been said: be perfect. Be perfect does not mean you are perfect.
