Satan tempts us according to our attitudes: d.Giovanni Serravalle from Turin, spiritual father of the future presbyter and prophet.

Discipline (Zucht)

“If you start by looking for freedom, first learn

the discipline of senses and soul, so that desires

and members do not move here and there.

Your spirit and body be chaste, to you completely subdued

And obedient, looking for the aim they have been given.

Nobody learns the secret for freedom, if not through discipline”.

Bonhoeffer

NB The first line of the poem «Stations on the way of freedom», written not long after the attempt on the life of Hitler on the 20th July 1944.

Ave, ave Maria sang his heart in his sleep, that in his sleep trudged.

The Sin, biblically, is that potential strength, that very power that forces us to commit a sin actually and first existentially. It besieges us, it submerges us, it pervades us. It is not the chronological sin, the one of the beginnings, but the ontological one, substantial, radical, structural. Friends of God know it vividly and have a terrible conscience of it. It is such a sin to err in us, through our freedom under pressure. This sin has shown itself since the beginnings, and in this sense, only in this sense it can be defined as original.

The real sin, in a sense the unique, is the one of idolatry: the cult of oneself (typically modern and postmodern) and of the values, that we produce and find abundantly. We can escape from idolatry only thanks to the external grace of the first commandment (that in some way includes all the other commandments) and the internal grace of Christ, the anti-idolater par excellence.

Catholic church excels at idolatry, it is almost all idolatry, apart from those little spaces of liberty that Christ managed to open in the his cracked rock and in his rotten steel.
