I confirm my vivid and strong solidarity with father Luigi Merola, the courageous Neapolitan priest, who incited Forcella to get free from “camorra”. Not in an informal moment, but in the same sermon during the funeral of Annalisa Durante. I condemn the compulsive silence to which the cardinal Giordano, his archibishop, has obliged him.
I reject a church selfconfined into the bishops’ palaces, into the rectories and the sacristies. I am together with the marthyrs of my age, from the archibishop Oscar Romero to the laical missionary Annalena Tonelli.
I am with all the frontier fathers from father Luigi Ciotti to father Andrea Gallo. I am with all the laycals that shout their “no” against people’s crucifixion in the name of democracy.
I am not against terrorism, but against every kind of terrorism, American and non.
