Ferrari’ jewel was his pastoral for the young. He wanted a Sunday Mass, to attract all the children of the city. Against the parsons’ complaints, who cared about their sheep. He wanted a priest, young, only devoted to the young.

He avoided to have his Episcopal ring devoutly kissed. He wanted to be treated without any ceremonies.

To the priests he loved to say: be unite with each other more than with me. He organized priestly days where they could be in the company of each other, even playing bowls. In the countryside, in the open air. In un serene and brotherly atmosphere. Free. Some of them used to cook or had something cooked.

The sleeping and dreaming experience of the Flight does not have the “soul” as protagonist but a lighter body. Is the soul this particular body?

Ferrari prayed thinking and thought praying.

To the young priest, just ordered, who, entranced, celebrated towards the crucified that towered over the altar, he said: it is enough if you see His feet.

He did not like external emphasis.

The classical opposition between spirit and matter does not satisfy, because it does not define them.

How would it be possible to define the same hypo-theological indefinable: the spirit of men and things, their being matter?

Jesus, who walks on the Lake Tiberias, is it simply His body or His body-soul, the so called astral body? In this case the difference between physic and animic has been fringed.

The Carthusian asked more and more for faith and love and wisdom, intelligence of the divine and human.

“Jesus, Son of God”, is not an exaggerated definition, but a defective one. Jesus exceeds even in the most excessive definitions about Him.

The Carthusian focused him under a dazzling sun, in front of a dazzled seashore.

The Tridentine archbishop  took care of a volume about the contributions of the bishops in Apulia during the Council. Always afloat the smart dog. Alter Ferrara.

To the young priest, a bit shocked for the hierarchical involutions of the post-Council, Ferrari observed embittered: the church is closed to the Spirit.

The Ferrara of Lecce was overjoyed.

Is the problem the existence of spirit or the existence of matter? What is matter? What is that is? What is the matter without that is? And the spirit without that is? And that is without the Being? And what is the Being if it does not reveal Itself?

The being, because a non-nothing, is it already divine? Is the divine homogeneous or it is itself indented and varied? What a gift the faith in the sea of shadows.

We are pilgrims besieged by shadows. For the believer, besieged by the latent Sun.

Lord, compared to You, every truth is problem.

Lord, I want to be Your knees, Your eternal adoration of the Father.

Make me think the Unthinkable, make me love the Unlovable.

Everybody loves You until You are their ego, everybody hates You when You try to become their God.

Ferrari vagheggiava l’idea di vivere in episcopio coi suoi preti.
