When the faith became a hostile and greenish moon, the Poetry did not betray him. Life is stronger than faith, love stronger than life. When even Love gets dark, love remains.

 

During a violent faith crisis, he was tempted to perceive Satan as the Good and the Reason. Like the Angel that counted on God as reasonable Love. Like the Angel that found the way God loved as monstrous: I will resurrect you but you have to die. Die not only once but thousand times during a life, that claims to be a gift but it is the river of pain itself, that hardly ever touches and embraces burning rose bushes.

Maybe this was Satan’s argument before his angelic collapse. The same, under the saber-cuts of the doubt, were the carthusian’s arguments, identifying himself in Satan. With his mind but not the heart, hardly in prayer.

 

The carthusian perceived all the power of the Jewish objection to Christ-Messiah: the Christian Messiah has come but the earth has remained the land of pain and death, of power and injustice. Why does Christian Messiah postpone the palingenesis to the second Parousia? God’s embodiment, if it is God, can shock and re-create. Ipso facto.

 

A second speculative objection was spreading. It was about Hell. God loves, but actually he imposes His Love. If you do not love Him in return you are condemned. Otherwise you are condemned to love Him.

 

But what kind of objection can triumph over Love, that believes and foresees the Truth, but unable to demonstrate it?

Every objection collapses in the look of fire and in the heart of fire of the Beloved One, the only certainty, the only concreteness, the only absoluteness.
