The MO.CO.VA. (Second Vatican Council Movement), thanks the President of the Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, and the Senate Committee for their high commitment to the death penalty.
Shares with the President of the Senate, Nicola Mancino, the hope that the UN General Assembly, in the autumn of 2001, “can come to express itself for a moratorium of fact or law in view of the complete abolition” of it.
